DURHAM – Graham Barton, DeWayne Carter and Jacob Monk have been invited to participate at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine, set for February 29 – March 3 in Indianapolis, Ind. Barton, a 6-5, 314-pound Brentwood, Tenn., native started nine games for the Blue Devils at left tackle in 2023, helping the offense accumulate 2,174 rushing and 2,351 passing yards. He tallied a team-high five knockdown blocks against No. 9 Clemson and four against No. 4 Florida State. In addition, he did not relinquish a sack allowed against the Tigers and Seminoles and only allowed 11 total quarterback pressures on the season. Barton played a key role in Duke only losing 171 yards on the year, the fewest in the ACC. At the end of the season, he was named an American Football Coaches Association and Phil Steele Publications All-America selection and was a First Team All-ACC recipient. Carter, a 6-3, 305-pound redshirt senior from Pickerington, Ohio, tallied 41 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four quarterback hurries, four pass breakups, one blocked kick and one fumble recovery for a touchdown this past season. The first three-time team captain in program history was a key component as to why the Blue Devils relinquished just 247 points and 15 rushing touchdowns in 2023. Carter also helped the Duke defense hold 10-of-13 opponents to under 25 points, including four to under 10 points, while shutting out No. 9 Clemson, Lafayette, and NC State in the second half. Carter was named a Phil Steele Publications All-America selection and was a First Team All-ACC recipient. Monk, a 6-3, 320-pound Clayton, N.C., native earned All-ACC honors in 2023 for the third time in his career, after helping the offense accumulate 2,174 rushing and 2,351 passing yards. Additionally, he anchored a Blue Devil offensive line that ranked second in the ACC and tied for 31st nationally in tackles for loss allowed (4.77 per game), third in the league and tied for 24th nationally in sacks allowed (1.31 per game) and fourth in the conference and tied for 31st nationally in rushing touchdowns (26). This two-time team captain concluded his Blue Devil tenure with 3,777 snaps in 59 career games played.
