Roach and Lively Honored on Preseason All-ACC Teams

The ACC Men's Tip-off concluded last Wednesday October 12th with media members having till Monday October 17th to select their preseason selections. At the bottom of this post is my ballot attached with who I picked.
The following below is from Duke Sports Information.
The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its preseason awards on Tuesday, with junior Jeremy Roach and freshman Dereck Lively II earning recognition. Roach was named to the Preseason All-ACC First Team, while Lively was tapped as the Preseason Rookie of the Year and to a spot on the Preseason All-ACC Second Team.
Duke was picked to finish second in the league's predicted order of finish. All voting was conducted by media that cover the ACC. Roach received three votes for Preseason Player of the Year, while freshman Dariq Whitehead had one. Duke had five freshmen earn votes, including the four highest vote-getters for Rookie of the Year, led by Lively (57), Whitehead (25), Tyrese Proctor (five) and Mark Mitchell (three). Kyle Filipowskireceived two votes.
Named the Blue Devils lone captain and the team's only returning starter after helping guide Duke to the Final Four in 2022-23, Roach is joined on the preseason first team by Miami's Isaiah Wong, NC State's Terquavion Smith and North Carolina's Caleb Love and Armando Bacot. The Leesburg, Va., native made 27 starts during his sophomore campaign and was selected to the NCAA West Region All-Tournament Team after averaging 11.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists in his five NCAA Tournament games. Through two seasons in Durham, Roach has averaged 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in 63 career games.
Lively, who headlines Duke's No. 1-ranked freshman class as the overall No. 1 player in the class, is a five-star center from Philadelphia. The Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year, Lively led Westtown School to a 31-7 record and the Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association state championship this past season. The 7-foot-1 Lively averaged 14.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game and was a McDonald's All-American and a first-team All-State honoree.
Duke hosts Countdown to Craziness on Friday at Cameron Indoor Stadium at 7 p.m., with the lone exhibition game set for Wednesday, Nov. 2 vs. Fayetteville State at 7 p.m.
