Duke Football Bowl Projections - Week 6

We are back with Week 6 Bowl Projections from Brian Kennedy of Duke Football Talk and myself. Duke Football lost a heartbreaker of a game to Notre Dame this past Saturday night as Duke couldn't catch a break as the luck of the Irish prevailed. Notre Dame beat Duke by a score of 21 - 14. Duke has a bye week this upcoming weekend. Below are our bowl projections for week 6.
Brian Kennedy of Duke Football Talk - Section 17 Podcast
What a roller coaster of a ride from this past Saturday nights game. While the outcome was not what any Duke fan wanted, this team fought till the very end. On top of this, Riley Leonard appears to be missing some time, but hey, at least his injury is not season ending. There could not be a better time for this team to have their BYE week. With that being said, my bowl projection is changing for the first time in a few weeks. While I still think the Pop Tarts Bowl is a real possibility, there are now some more ACC schools that have shown up as contenders as we hit the halfway mark of the season. As for the Bowl itself, I still have this Duke team heading down south to Florida, only this time they are relocating to sunny Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl.

Freddie Hodges of Duke Report
As I stated at the start of this article, Duke lost a heartbreaker of a game to Notre Dame. It was an electric atmosphere in a sold out Wallace Wade Stadium for this game. Thankfully the injury to Riley Leonard doesn't appear to be season ending and we hopefully will see him back on the field down the road. Duke has a bye week this week which now is perfect timing. I stated last week that with a win or even a loss against Notre Dame my bowl projection would change. With the loss to Notre Dame I now have Duke heading out west to play in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California.

There were scouts from the Orange Bowl and the Gator Bowl at the game this past Saturday night. I spent some time talking with the rep from the Gator Bowl.
With that said, these bowl projections are always fluid from week to week throughout the season. Check back here at the blog next week as our bowl projections may or may not change depending on the outcome of other games across the college football landscape as Duke is on a bye week.
