Duke Football Bowl Projections - Week 3

We are back with Week 3 Bowl Projections from Brian Kennedy of Duke Football Talk and myself.

After Beating Lafayette this past weekend by a score of 42 - 7, Duke football is 2- 0 and will play its third (in a row) home game this weekend vs Northwestern at Wallace Wade Stadium. Below are our bowl projections for week 3.

Brian Kennedy of Duke Football Talk - Section 17 Podcast

Another game and another victory for the Duke Blue Devils. Honestly, this was one of the few games on the schedule where all fans were pretty confident in the outcome. Don't get me wrong, Lafayette came out fighting, but I imagine if the Clemson game had been on a Saturday and not a Monday, the result could have been far worse than the 42-7 loss. With that being said, nothing has changed as far as my bowl prediction this week. I still think Duke will be down south in January partaking in some tasty pastry treats in Orlando in the Pop Tarts Bowl. Things could always change in the coming weeks, but hopefully the results for this Duke team will remain the same!

Freddie Hodges of Duke Report

It was a quick turn around for Duke playing Clemson on Monday Labor Day night to playing Lafayette five days later. Duke started the game off a little sluggish and that had me almost ready to change by bowl projection. However, Duke finished strong with a 42 - 7 win over Lafayette in which many players saw the field including 3 quarterbacks - Riley Leonard, Henry Belin IV, and Grayson Loftis. With an easy win for Duke and also seeing recent outcomes of games from other ACC teams... I am also staying steady with my bowl projection of Duke heading south to play in the Pop Tarts Bowl in Orlando Florida.

These bowl projections are always fluid from week to week throughout the season. Check back here at the blog next week as our bowl projections may or may not change depending on the outcome of the Duke vs Northwestern game which is this Saturday September 16th at Wallace Wade Stadium with a 3:30 PM kickoff.
