With the Duke upset over Clemson on Labor Day night both Brian and I have our Week 2 Bowl Projections ready.

I am still trying to catch my breath after an unbelievable season opening win against Clemson. I said it on the Section 17 podcast this week and I am going to say it here, this is the BIGGEST victory for this program in our lifetime. The team looked great in every category on the field Monday night and silenced a lot of doubters after their 28-7 victory. The sky is the limit for Mike Elko and his squad, and now we wonder, can we beat Notre Dame and maybe even Florida St? The victory has also caused commotion with bowl projections, and I LOVE IT! Last week I had this team heading north to play in Yankee Stadium in the Pinstripe Bowl. After Monday's win however, I have Duke now heading south, and enjoying some tasty pastries as they will be playing in the POP TARTS Bowl in sunny Orlando Florida.

Wow! ... What a statement game this past Monday night! I am still recovering from what was an epic win and upset for Duke Football over Clemson. Duke controlled the 2nd half and went on to win by 3 touchdowns! I myself and I am guessing many others did not see this type of win coming. If Duke can continue the momentum from this big win, we all are in for a fun ride this season. With that said my bowl projection has changed. Last week I had Duke heading down to Charlotte to play in the Duke's Mayo Bowl. After the upset win and how Duke played great on offense and defense, I as well have Duke heading even farther south. I went back and forth over either picking the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl or Pop Tarts Bowl. Quick side note - I picked FSU to make the college football playoffs in my preseason predictions. With that said I also have Duke Football playing in the Pop Tarts Bowl in Orlando Florida.

These bowl projections are always fluid from week to week throughout the season. Check back here at the blog next week as our bowl projections may or may not change depending on the outcome of the Duke vs Lafayette game which is this Saturday September 9th at Wallace Wade Stadium with a 6:00 PM kickoff.
