Duke Football Bowl Projections - Week 10

We are back with Week 10 Bowl Projections from Brian Kennedy of Duke Football Talk and myself. Duke was shut out on the road to Louisville this past weekend in a 23 - 0 loss. This was a tough loss to watch as Duke was never in this game. Below are our bowl projections for week 10.

Man, what a disappointing result from this past weekends game in Louisville. First things first, Louisville is LEGIT. They outplayed Duke in ever facet of the game, and could spoil FSU's undefeated season if they make it to the ACC title game. I guess the bright side in all this, is that UNC again felt sorry for Duke and lost to a team where they were double digit favorites.
With that being said, I believe that Saturday's loss all but ends Duke's shot at going to a big time Florida bowl game. (Yes the Gasparilla bowl is in Tampa, but it is a low tier bowl). If Duke were to go to a Pop-Tarts or Gator bowl, Duke is going to need some help. On the other hand, I now have Duke 2.5 hours down the road in Charlotte for the Duke's Mayo Bowl.
As I said last week, the ACC is in full calamity mode, and I LOVE IT. These predictions will continue to be contingent on how all the games play out. Hopefully after this Thursday's Wake game, it will be a win for Duke and fans will be raring to go for the big matchup with Chapel Hill College.

Freddie Hodges of Duke Report
Yeah... I did not see this loss to Louisville happening the way it did. Duke came out flat and was never in this game. Duke could not find a rhythm to get back in the game as Louisville shut out Duke 23 - 0.
There are no more divisions in the ACC.. but that Coastal chaos still lives on in the ACC as UNC loss to Georgia Tech this past weekend. That's two losses in a row for Duke and for UNC now. Throw in a Virginia Tech team (who couldn't seem to win their out of conference games) but are now winning ACC games and you have an ACC that is in pure chaos mode.
With that being said, I also have Duke now heading just over 2 hours down the road to Charlotte for the Duke's Mayo Bowl. The Duke's Mayo Bowl was also my projection from week 1.
I still think Duke has a chance to make a top tier Florida bowl but a lot needs to go in their favor. The first of that being getting back in the win column this Thursday night at Wallace Wade Stadium against Wake Forest.

Duke has a quick turn around and is now back at home this Thursday against Wake Forest with a 7:30 PM kickoff on ESPN.
These bowl projections are always fluid from week to week throughout the season. Check back here at the blog next week as our bowl projections may or may not change depending on the outcome of the Duke vs Wake Forest game as well as other games across the college football landscape.
